Held each summer in Launceston’s historic City Park, Festivale is Tasmania’s premier food, wine and entertainment festival. Over three days in late January, around 30,000 people gather beneath the park’s grand elm trees to enjoy the best of the island’s produce, cool-climate wines, craft beers and spirits, served by local producers and stallholders.
Beyond the food and drink, the festival features live music from local artists and headline acts, a Friday night comedy line-up, hands-on masterclasses, and cooking demonstrations from a celebrity guest chef and Tasmania’s own talented chefs. First launched in 1988 as a multicultural street party, Festivale has grown into one of Tasmania’s signature events and is regarded as one of the best food and wine festivals in Australia. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly day out and a true taste of Tasmania.
